ROCKIN' THE RED...LADIES & GENTS

As V-Day, aka Valentine's Day, approaches every girl is wanting that perfect look to wear either for a date with their special someone or for a night out with friends.  "Red Dress" parties have become trendy as of late, so don't be last to the style game.  All reds are not the same so be careful if trying to coordinate accessories, shoes, etc. (no matching...that is dated!).  Red is always in style so rock your red look again!

Style Tip:  Accentuate one area of your body, typically chest or legs.  A short, tight-fitted dress with cleavage can look to revealing and cheap.

STYLE YOUR LOOK WITH STATEMENT EARRINGS

A great way to freshen up your current look and wardrobe is via statement earrings.  These are earrings that contain a bold shape, size, or color.  Earrings help draw attention to your face and neckline and are a great way to capture someone's eye.  Trends in earrings are bright feathered earrings, bold stone earrings, large metallic pieces, and bright hues.  

An easy trick to enliven an outfit you've worn a zillion times is by changing your accessories.  Exchange the earrings you wear with a dress, suit, or any look to something new, bold, and colorful.  Try colored earrings in fuchsia, deep purple, turquoise, tangerine, or green with a white, black, or neutral outfit to make your look POP!

YELLOW CRUSH

Yellow is everywhere this spring/summer season.  Over and over again I hear people say "but I can't wear that color".  Yes you can!  It is a matter of finding what shade works best for your skin tone and hair color. Fair, light, medium (or olive), and dark skin tones all work with different shades.  Fair colored skin looks great in a bright citrus yellow.  Olive skin tone can wear mustard, pale yellow, citrus, or lime green/yellow.  Pale skin looks best in mustard color or marigold.  Dark skin tones can wear pale yellow, citrus yellow, or mustard though.  If you aren't sure what shade looks best for you, go to a fabric store and pull out swatches of different shades or find the shades online and print it and hold it up in a mirror and outside lighting to see which illuminates you.

Styling Tips:  Not ready to jump into a full yellow outfit or wanting to slowly ease into this color trend?  Try adding yellow accessories, such as a handbag, scarf, jewelry, or shoes to an outfit.  Wear your yellow shoes with a dark color such as navy, or black to give a fresh look that will flatter your hair and skin tone.
