MEN'S NEW WAYS OF WEARING STRIPES FOR SPRING

Stripes is a hot trend for spring gentlemen.  Look for new ways to mix stripes into your look and pair together in new combinations.  Go from large stripes to discrete stripes in pants, shirts, and vests.  But step up from the striped button down shirt into a bolder look.  The key to wearing stripes is knowing your body type.  Larger stripes make you appear broader and wider.  This works well for men on the upper half.  Thin stripes are more slimming and if vertical, make you appear slimmer.  For spring, stripe patterns in varying sizes is a hot trend.  Look for this on t-shirts.

Vests are an edgy and trendy look for men.  They are season-less as well.  Wear this with a button down shirt  and blazer in winter.  As it warms up, just add a fitted long sleeve knit shirt or t-shirt.  The buttons on this John Varvatos vest give it the cool, hip edge.  Available at Lost Boys Georgetown. John Varvatos Vest, $498

Striped denim and cotton pants (think Gold Cup, Spring BBQ's, & more) are the quintessential piece for spring.  This can take your look from preppy (think pink button down and polo shirts), to hipster (graphic t-shirts), to edgy musician (paired with a vest), to sleek urbanite (Hermes belt and blazer).
